Educational background:
Graduate of TMK (the only public English-language secondary school-lycee in north Cyprus) graduate and holding a BA degree on Public Administration from the American University of Beirut (AUB) where I studied for four years on a scholarship program granted by the USA Agency for the International Development (AID).
Work Experience As a Translator
I have been involved in part-time or free-lance tasks for more than 21 years now, such as the following:
Writing articles or making translations of articles for a number of English or Turkish bilingual newspapers and magazines published in Cyprus; translating several books and contracts, rules and regulations and by-laws and similar legal documents for public and private associations and organizations such as chambers of commerce and industry, sports and women’s associations, companies, banks (Central Bank included), law offices, translation bureaus (including the international agency TransNation based in south Cyprus), and translating Cyprus-related UN reports (including part of UN Chief Kofi Annan’s Plan on the “Property” Section) and EU publications (booklets, leaflets etc) into and from English and Turkish, master theses and/or term papers for students, annual and business reports. Registered as a freelance translator in the databases of numerous translation agencies and companies worldwide.

Command of foreign languages:
Excellent command of written and spoken English; fair command of French.
Means of work:
HP Computer connected to Internet with an e-mail system (software: Windows XP-Professional, Office 2003), printer, fax-modem.
